Dundee and Angus Esports and Gaming Festival Stalls

Summary

Dundee and Angus College is hosting an esports festival. Teams from all three D&A campuses will come together to find out who is the best in the college. The tournament will feature two games: VALORANT and Overwatch. Both games will have an 8-team single-elimination bracket. The winners will be crowned the kings or queens of their respective games.

There will also be a wide range of stalls and activities throughout the event. You could speak to someone from Ninja Kiwi or learn about the decision-making behind online gambling.

Our Esports Society room on the ground floor will also feature a selection of older video game consoles. These will include a Nintendo 64, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We will also have newer games available on the Nintendo Switch, along with two VR headsets.

Stall Details

Virtual Reality

We will have two VR headsets available for people to try. This gives visitors the chance to experience VR if they have never used it before.

D&A Societies

Societies from all three D&A campuses will have stalls at the event. They will showcase the extracurricular activities available to students. There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved outside of the college day. For example, the D&D Society will have a stall. They will show visitors that D&D is more than just a game. Playing D&D can also help people develop skills such as teamwork, communication and decision-making.

Industry Professionals

We are also looking to bring industry professionals to the event. One example is Ninja Kiwi, the team behind games such as Bloons Tower Defense. We are looking for anyone within the games industry who would like to have a stall. The event is not limited to esports. We want to showcase the wider games industry and the many opportunities available within it.

Esports Society

Our very own esports students will also have a stall. They will explain how the Esports Society works and showcase some of the teams we have created. These teams compete in collegiate tournaments such as NSE and BESC.

Food and Discounts

Domino’s will also have a stall at the event. They will provide food and offer discounts to attendees.

Retro Gaming

One of the main attractions will be our selection of older games consoles. Visitors will be able to play on consoles such as the Nintendo 64, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We will also have newer games available on the Nintendo Switch. This gives visitors a chance to enjoy games from different generations.
